Alice F. Ward 86, of Frazee, MN, passed away Saturday August 15, 2015 at Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 19 at 11AM in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18 at Furey Funeral Home from 5PM-7PM followed by a 7PM Prayer Service. Visitation will also continue at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be made in Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee.
Alice Frances Ward was born February 19, 1929, the daughter of Eugene and Francis (Illg) Ziegler in Frazee, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Evergreen Lutheran Church in Evergreen Township. She attended Frazee High School graduating in 1947.
On June 9, 1948 she married Clarence "Kice" Ward at Evergreen Lutheran Church. Making their home in Frazee, they enjoyed more than 46 years together.
In addition to being a homemaker, Alice worked as a teacher's aide at Frazee Elementary School and Bethlehem Lutheran Preschool. During the annual Turkey Day's celebration, Alice was active with many committees over the years. She was a wonderful hostess, always willing to entertain family and friends and was talented in making her own personalized greeting cards.
Alice was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and enjoyed being involved with the Widows group, Ladies Aide, Bible Study, Church Council, Release Time and many more.
After retirement Alice and Kice enjoyed traveling. They travelled to Greece, Hawaii and Mexico along with several other places throughout the world and the USA. Her love for God, family and friends will long be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Alice will be sadly missed and the treasured memories she leaves behind will last in our hearts until she welcomes us home.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Darrell (Bonnie) Ward of Richmond, MN; Kenneth (Patricia) Ward of Highland, Maryland and Karen Ward of Fergus Falls, MN; six grandchildren, Dana Ward, John (Rita) Ward, Annie (Mike) Mitchell, Shawn (Jayme) Ward, Chad (Jessica) Daniels and Alyssa (Blake) Triebwasser, Paul Pearson, Kelly (Paul) Zahrbock and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kice; parents, Eugene and Frances; infant twin sister; brother, Earl Ziegler; brother-in-law, Don Kossow; niece, Linda Quier; and nephew, David Sanders.
The family of Alice Ward would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Care Center for the wonderful care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee.
