Betty Ann Bigger, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 85 in her home in rural Frazee surrounded by family. Born on January 19, 1940, Betty led a life marked by warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family, friends, and community.
Throughout her career, Betty made an enduring impact in Education. She began her journey in Ada as a Home Ec Extension Agent before moving on to Frazee where she spent her career as a Special Education Teacher. Her passion for helping others brought her to be a cornerstone member of the Burlington Cubs 4-H club, a lifelong active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and service with the church in programs such as; Lutheran Women in Mission, Bible study, youth Vacation Bible School, Release Time, Children’s Christmas Shop, and the Fall Bizarre to name a few. Betty was also active in Sugar & Spice homemakers, and so much more; leaving behind a legacy of service that touched many lives. She was kindly known in the community as the “Watkins Lady” as a proud representative of Watkins.
At the age of 23, Betty married Garry Bigger, with whom she welcomed and cherished three sons. Together, they farmed in rural Frazee, MN.
Betty had a multitude of interests that enriched her life and those around her. She found joy in cooking & baking, Sunday gathering at the farm, sewing, gardening (especially sunflowers), and feeding the birds.
She is survived by her sons Brian, Barry (Karen), Brant (Tami); granddaughters Ashley, Alex (Jake), Hailey (Wyatt), and Hannah; grandson Blake; great-grandsons Everett and Axel ; great-granddaughter Eleanor; siblings Carol May, Tom (Margert) Trieglaff; along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garry Bigger; her parents, Ed and Elanor Trieglaff; and granddaughter Anna Bigger.
