Bruce Trieglaff

October 9, 1954 — April 23, 2026

Bruce Randolph Trieglaff was born in Perham, MN on October 9, 1954, the sixth child of Ralph and Melvina (Schultz) Trieglaff. Bruce passed away on April 23, 2026, at Green Pine Acres in Menahga, MN, at the age of 71.

Bruce was baptized in 1954 and confirmed in 1968 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. At age 7, Bruce was given a dog, Rusty, and together they explored Frazee. Bruce spent a lot of time helping on the family turkey farm in addition to helping his uncles Herb Rohde, Ed Trieglaff and Walt Roxstrom on their farms. He especially enjoyed driving the tractors at an early age.

Bruce became the youngest (age 16) singer/guitarist in the regional band, Sweet Pain in which he performed for several years. Attending Frazee-Vergas high school, Bruce played the coronet in the band. He participated in football, track, choir, drama, chess club, camera club, school paper and yearbook staff. Bruce enjoyed the first photography class offered at F.H.S. and won first place in the photography contest. Bruce graduated from Frazee-Vergas high school with the class of 1972.

Following high school, Bruce attended Anoka AVTI, majoring in business and sales. Bruce was a member and officer in Frazee Jaycees, and worked at various jobs before graduating from Detroit Lakes AVTI in 1987 with a degree in Professional Sales/Distributive Education.

Bruce began his postal career in 1982 as a substitute rural mail carrier. He was also employed at Gary’s Furniture, and a bus driver for Anderson Bus until 2001, when he became a full-time rural mail carrier in Frazee until retirement in 2018.

Bruce’s interests included a collection cars, trucks and snowmobiles. He had a huge selection of guitars which he occasionally played for enjoyment.

Bruce loved WeFest, attending every day of the celebration from 1990 through 2016. Bruce’s camp partners were his sisters Joan and Roxanne and brother-in-law Paul. Each year WeFest ended, Bruce was planning for the next years improvements. The group went from a van and hibachi in the parking lot to a “Poor Man’s Winnebago”—a wood frame and blue tarp in the bed of his pick-up “Old Blue”. Within a few years, the group upgraded to campers and carports in the V.I.P. camp.

Bruce’s other favorite time of the year was early November at Big Buck Deer Camp. At the age of 14, Bruce shot his first doe. After that, he never took a gun to camp. He enjoyed everything about deer camp except hunting.

Bruce’s dog Bailey was his constant companion for many years. Through the years Bruce had many special friends including Mike Mayer, Jimmy Brune, Mike Fink, Jordan Bergstron, Ted Anderson, Cindy Burton, Jim Henn, Brikker, Cody, and Gary Ware, Dennis Weidemann, and Duane Poppenga.

Bruce was diagnosed with dementia a year ago. Joan became his caregiver and nephew Brikker Ware made daily visits to help. Because of their help, Bruce was able to stay in his home until recent months. The family is grateful for their care for Bruce.

Bruce is survived by his siblings Murray (Dar) Trieglaff, Roxanne (Paul) Ebnet, Donald (Diane) Trieglaff, Joan Maertz and Sharon (Virgil) Jons; many nieces and nephews and his godchild Jessica (Ebnet) Frank. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Taif Trieglaff.

Rest in peace, dear brother.
