Charles J. Wokasch, age 78, of Mahnomen, Minnesota died at his home on March 8, 2013. Charles will be buried next to his parents at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Frazee, MN. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 5 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Charles John Wokasch was born on August 19, 1934, in rural Frazee, MN, to Edward and Mary Wokasch. He attended a one room school in Evergreen Township. Charles farmed with his parents until his father's death. Over the next several years, he worked at the Perham Egg Plant, Swift Turkey Plant in Frazee and Bergen's Greenhouse in Detroit Lakes. Charles also lived with and cared for Bennett Melbye. His last place of employment was at the Shooting Star Casino where he worked until retirement in 2004. He loved fishing, hunting and his dog, Fido. Charles was a hard worker and enjoyed caring for others.
Charles is survived by two brothers: Lawrence of Perham, MN and Edward Jr. of Fargo, ND; one sister-in-law, Marie Wokasch of Perham, MN; seven nieces and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jim and Peter.
