Charlotte "Char" (Julius) Niemann, age 76, formerly of Frazee, MN, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at Lakewood Care Center in Staples, MN.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN with visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Frazee, MN. Lunch will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend.
Char was born November 15, 1935, in Sebeka, MN, to Carroll and Ev (Norgan) Julius. Her family moved to Frazee, MN, where she grew up. Char graduated from Frazee and moved to the Twin Cities where she went to Business College and worked as a secretary for a Presbyterian Church. After moving back to Frazee, she married Ronnie Niemann on September 4, 1960. Together, they raised three children.
Char enjoyed bowling, golfing and ladies card club. She worked at Swift, NFO, Fingerhut, Artic Cat, Northwestern Bell and retired following her employment at AT&T. She was a member of the American Legion Color Guard.
Char moved with her family to Sartell, MN, and following Ronnie's death, moved back to Frazee to be near her sister. There, she met Jerry Axton and shared his home in Detroit Lakes for the last 17 years.
Due to her declining health, she moved to Staples to be closer to her son and daughter. She will be missed by many.
Char is survived by Jerry Axton of Detroit Lakes; 2 daughters: Robin (Casey) Peterson of Waite Park, MN and Michelle Niemann of Staples, MN; 1 son, Brian (Tricia) Niemann of Staples, MN; 3 grandchildren: Megan and Jenna Niemann and Dacota Daye and 1 great grandson, Cameron Martin, all of Staples, MN; 2 sisters: Carolyn (Ted) Riewer and Bonnie Julius; along with many nieces and nephews.
Char was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Niemann; brother, Delbert "Bud" Julius; and her parents, Carroll and Ev Julius.
