Dale Fichtner

Dale A. Fichtner, age 80, of McIntosh, MN, formerly of Menahga, MN, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at McIntosh Senior Living.

Funeral services for Dale will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN with visitation to begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee. To leave online condolences, please visit www.fureyfh.com.

Dale was born June 15, 1934, in Perham, MN, to Edward and Helen (Hockett) Fichtner. He grew up in Frazee, MN where is attended school, graduating from Frazee High School with the class of 1952. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. Following his schooling, Dale enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for four years. He then moved back to Frazee where he began working for Daggett Truck Line. He then worked for various other truck lines in Rhinelander, WI, Scheider Truck Line and then Four Way Freight in Wausau, WI, retiring in 1999. Dale had a passion for old cars and trucks and over the years, had purchased quite a collection.
Dale met Patsy Resche in Wisconsin. The couple was married in 1959. They had one son, Paul. Dale eventually made his home in Menahga where he lived until his health required his move to McIntosh Senior Living in 2012, where he resided until the time of his passing.

Dale is survived by 5 siblings: Shirley Fichtner of Minneapolis, MN, Marjorie Kroll of North St. Paul, MN, Darrell Fichtner of FL, Lois (Elmer) Gilmore of North St. Paul, MN, and Vickie Haukom of MA; several cousins: Terry Hockett of Frazee, Jim Hockett of Moorhead, MN, John Dermody of Frazee, John Hockett of Menahga, Gary Hockett of Backus, MN, Marsha Schoff of Hold Ridge, NE, Larry Dermody of CA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dale in death were his parents; son, Paul in 2014; aunt, Ruth Dermody and uncle, Wayne Hockett.
