Delaine Evelyn Bartel

Delaine Evelyn Bartel, age 87, of Frazee, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Frazee Care Center with her family by her side.

Delaine was born June 9, 1938, to Henry and Frieda (Brasel) Lubitz in Perham, MN. She grew up and attended Corliss grade school, and then attended Frazee High School for three years, and graduated from Perham with the class of 1956. Following graduation, Delaine worked at Northwest Bank in Minneapolis for three years. She was united in marriage to Marvin “Bud” Bartel on October 24, 1959. This union was blessed with three children: Darwin, Kevin, and Nancy. They farmed in the Toad Lake area. After their kids were raised, Delaine worked at Toad Lake Store and the Wolf Lake Liquor Store. In 2008, Bud and Delaine sold their farm and moved to Frazee. Delaine enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, crafts, canning, baking, bowling, dancing, watching polka party on TV, going to the casino with her sister, and spending time with family.

Delaine is survived by her three children: Darwin (Susan), Kevin (Roxy), and Nancy (Bryce) Stromstad, all of Frazee; one grandson, Skylar; one step-granddaughter, Christine; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jayden and Mason; one sister, Joyce Steidl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.

Services for Delaine will be held on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025 at St. Paul's Lutheran Evergreen Church in Frazee, beginning with a time of visitation at 10am. Formal services will begin at 11am, with burial to immediately follow at 12pm at Evergreen Cemetery adjacent to the church.
