Doris Ann Lachowitzer, 84 of Pelican Rapids, MN died on February 14, 2024 at Essentia Health Medical Center - St. Joseph.

Doris Ann was born on October 29, 1939, the daughter of Alfred and Julia (Moen) Anderson in Pelican Rapids, MN, Doris brought joy to everyone she met with her fun-loving and creative personality and being the middle child of nine, known for her sense of humor and ability to bring laughter to any room. Family was everything to Doris, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She and her husband, Roy, were married on May 8, 1958 in South Dakota and they moved around quite often as Roy was in the Army. They shared a deep love for their three children: Terri, Twyla, Darin, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and enjoyed going dancing together. They truly knew how to have fun and brought happiness into each other's lives. Doris held a special place in her heart for nature and often went for walks in the beautiful outdoors.

Throughout her life, Doris had many hobbies and interests. Doris worked at the Loon’s Nest and Pelican Rapids Nursing Home for many years as a cook. She loved playing bingo, digging in the dirt as she tended to her garden and flowers, as well as creating beautiful pieces through crocheting and knitting such as scarfs and mittens. Living on the lake brought her immense happiness, as she found solace in the peaceful surroundings.

Doris's proudest accomplishment in life was undoubtedly her family. She'll be missed by her daughter, Teresa (Special Friend: Treon) her children, granddaughter Stacy (Mike) Wellnitz and their children Frankie and Indie, as well as granddaughter Crystal (Cordez) Nordlund and their children Damien and Tyrese, her son, Darin, along with his children - grandson, DJ (Amber) and their children, Leaph, Alexander, and Mazzy, her granddaughter, Tiffany, along with her children Deakon and Lyrik.
