Eleanor Trieglaff

Eleanor Trieglaff, age 92, of Frazee, MN, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Frazee Care Center surrounded by her loved ones.
Eleanor Dorothy Trieglaff was born June 5, 1918, near Vergas, MN to Henry and Hulda (Norgren) Kraus. There were 2 sisters, Gladys and Esther and 1 brother, Darwin. She attended country school near Vergas and went on to attend Frazee High School, graduating with the class of 1936.
Following high school graduation, Eleanor gained employment in Ed Trieglaff's Ice Cream Parlor, which is the building next to the Pawn Store on Main Street. In 1938, she and Ed were married at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Frazee. From the marriage came 3 children: Betty, Carol and Tom.
In 1944, Eleanor and Ed went into the farming business on the Trieglaff farm. In 1958, they received the Becker County Valley Farmer and Homemaker award. In 1974, Eleanor was asked to fix food for a dinner party which turned out to be the start of her catering adventure. In 1975, Ed and Eleanor built their retirement home in Frazee and then Ed joined in the catering business. Due to many requests for her outstanding recipes, Ed and Eleanor's Catering Cookbook was published in 1981. Many in the community have had the opportunity to enjoy her wonderful cooking and baking. She also devoted many hours tending and caring for the Rose Gardens at the Frazee Care Center.
Eleanor was always active in the community and at one time served as a 4-H leader, and honorary FFA chapter member, was on the Becker County welfare board, a member of the Lakeside Cemetery Board and was named Becker County Outstanding Senior Citizen in 1989.
Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children: Betty (Garry) Bigger, Carol May, and Tom (Margaret); 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and 1 step great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1991; her parents; 2 sisters & 1 brother; and 1 great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee with Reverend William Aufdenkamp officiating. Casketbearers will be grandsons: Brian Bigger, Barry Bigger, Brant Bigger, Tyler Trieglaff, Tim Trieglaff, and nephew, Ronald Hoffman. Mary Myhrer will be the organist. Heidi Brune will be the soloist. Interment will be made in the Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. Lunch will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm. Friday, September 10, 2010 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 pm.
