Elfrieda L. Damlo, 91, Frazee, MN, died Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Frazee Care Center. Funeral services will 11:00 AM Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, Reverend William Aufdenkamp officiating. Interment will be in the Gorman Township Cemetery, rural Frazee.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Elfrieda Lucille Damlo was born December 30, 1921, in Dora Township, rural Vergas, MN, to Gust and Julianna (Harke) Gorentz. She was raised and educated in Dora Township. Elfrieda was united in marriage to Walter Damlo, August 1, 1943, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Loon Lake, Vergas, MN. They moved to Frazee in 1947 where they farmed until 1993 when they moved to Detroit Lakes. Walter died in 2009.
Survivors include her grandchildren: Keith Damlo of Fargo, ND, Candice (Ryan) Jenkins of Mandan, ND, Bradley Damlo of Mandan, ND, Nathan Sazama-Damlo of Mandan, ND, Daniel Damlo of Wadena, MN, Fayth Damlo of Wadena, MN, Jesse Sazama-Damlo of Brainerd, MN; Great Grandchildren: Breanna Villard, Kirkland Zitzow, Connor Jenkins, Riley Jenkins, Cadence Jenkins; and 2 brothers: Ben (Carol) Gorentz of Park Rapids, MN and Gerald Gorentz of Vergas, MN. In addition to her husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; a great-grandson, Ian Damlo; 3 brothers: John, Clarence, Edward and Vernon and a sister, Eleanor.
