George Quittschreiber

June 7, 1918 — July 14, 2010

George Arthur Quittschreiber, age 92, lifelong Frazee, MN, resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the Frazee Care Center.
George was born June 7, 1918, the ninth child of Herman and Amelia Martha (Paesler) Quittschreiber at the Frazee Hospital. George grew up in rural Frazee and attended District #85 Country School through the 8th grade. George began trapping at an early age and enjoyed trapping small pelt animals. He also cut lots of wood that was used for lumber and firewood. He worked on the family dairy farm which he eventually took over from his father in 1946. George was united in marriage to Julia Dumbeck on October 18, 1939, at St. Paul's Evergreen Church. This union was blessed with 3 sons: Lloyd, David and Arlan. During the winter, when George was not busy on the farm, he enjoyed the time he spent with his wife Julia snowmobiling. George's life was greatly saddened by his wife Julia's passing on November 14, 1981. George continued to work on the family farm until moving to River Crest apartments in 1998. There, he enjoyed watching the deer, feeding the birds and visiting with others. He then moved to the Frazee Care Center Assisted Living in 2007, where he remained until his health required him to move into the Frazee Care Center where he remained until his passing.
George is survived by his 3 sons: Lloyd (Linda) of Bloomington, MN, David (Katie Baril) of Detroit Lakes and Arlan (Sherry) of rural Frazee; grandchildren: Kristin (Steven) Mikula, Angela (Luther) Qson, Sheryl (Roger) Anderson, Melissa Quittschreiber, Alecia, Sarah, Amanda and Jordan Quittschreiber; step-grandchildren: Jessica Khatri, Brian (Jen) Pazdernik,

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julia; 1 grandson, Larry; his 8 siblings: Clara Zepper, Harry, Emil, Walter, Louis, Leonard, Elmer and an infant sister; along with many other relatives.
