Georgia Bertek, age 57, of Frazee, MN, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Georgia was born November 25, 1955, in Port Hueneme, CA, to Richard and Tanya McBee. Because of her family's Navy background, she traveled a lot growing up.
Georgia made her home in Basin, Montana. She worked as a waitress there for several years. Later, while working as a waitress at Denny's restaurant in Florida, Georgia met Lloyd Bertek. Leaving fate to a coin toss, Georgia packed up and headed to Minnesota with Lloyd. The couple was married July 9, 1994, and resided on a farmstead in Frazee. The couple enjoyed spending time together hunting, fishing, boating, vacationing, rock picking and spoiling their grandchildren. Georgia also served as Vice President of Bertek Enterprises for 15 years. For the past 3 summers, Georgia worked for a farmer in Fertile, MN, which she truly enjoyed.
Georgia was a beautiful Wife, Mother, Nana, and friend.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lloyd of Frazee; 2 daughters: Chezzire (Daniel) of Beltrami, MN, and their children: Shyla, Chloe, Julia and Brady; Tia McBee of Frazee and her children: Brooklynn, Sierra and Cheyanne; 3 sons: Wayne (Adena) Burks of Joplin, MI, and their daughters: Avery and Allie; Brycie (Kim) Burks of Sullivan, MI, and their daughter, Izabel; and David "DJ" (Elisabeth) of Edmond, OK, and their son, Benson; her siblings: Emma Morgan & Richard McBee both of Frazee; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Georgia in death were her parents.
