Glen Glawe, age 61 died peacefully December 8, 2015 at Sanford Health in Fargo surrounded by loved ones after battling many health conditions.
Funeral Services for Glen will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 1PM in the Vergas Event Center, Vergas. Visitation will be Friday, December 11 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Vergas from 5PM-7PM with a 7PM Prayer Service. Visitation will continue at the Event Center one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment will be made in Lake Sybil Cemetery, rural Vergas.
Glen was born to Dale and Vernice (Dullum) Glawe on June 18, 1954 in Detroit Lakes, MN. He graduated from Perham High School in 1972. After graduation, Glen attended Dakota Business College and later went on to obtain a boilers license from the Total Energy Program at the Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech. He was employed by Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island, IL and also Control Data Corp in Arden Hills, MN. On June 25, 1977, Glen was united in marriage to Kathy Rasmussen. They made their home in Vergas where Glen dairy farmed with his brother Jon until the late 90's. Glen retired early due to health issues. He loved to play poker, cards and bingo. When health permitted, he also loved to hunt and fish. Glen was a loyal and avid Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Gopher fan and enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll. Most importantly, Glen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially every opportunity to see his three grandsons.
Glen is survived by his wife Kathy of Vergas, one daughter: Lisa (KC) Morah, three grandsons: Obi, CJ and Elo Morah all of Fridley, MN, two brothers and one sister: Jon (Darla) Glawe, Kevin Glawe and Nancy Glawe all of Vergas along with five nephews, four nieces, eight great-nephews and one great-niece.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Vernice Glawe, one brother: Brian Glawe and one sister: Becky Weisgerber.
