Harold Anderson

Harold Edmund Anderson was born March 21, 1935 in Crookston, MN the son of Arthur and Kathryn (Regan) Anderson. He passed away Sunday July 15, 2018 at the MN Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.

He grew up in Crookston and attended Cathedral High School. Following graduation Harold proudly served his country in the United Sates Navy serving on a submarine. He received his honorable discharge and returned to Crookston.

On August 1, 1959, Harold was united in marriage to Bonetta Stender in Vergas, MN. To this union four children were born.

He attended college at the University of North Dakota before embarking on a career with the United States Border Patrol. He was stationed in El Centro, CA, Grand Forks, ND, and Pembina, ND before retiring in 1988.

Harold and Bonnie moved to Rose Lake near Vergas, where he was active with the Vergas Lions Club and Lake Region Gardening Club. Harold enjoyed gardening, woodworking, being at the lake, reading, spending time outdoors and watching wildlife.

He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Anderson of Frazee; children: Cynthia Peterson of Grand Forks, ND; Regan (Sylvia) Anderson of Boca Raton, FL; Timothy (Jenny) Anderson of Kasson, MN; Brian (Jennifer) Anderson of Eagan, MN; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister: Kate Anderson of Fargo, ND; sister-in-law: Lou Ann Anderson of Crookston, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Kathryn Anderson; brothers: Ralph and Richard Anderson; sister: Norma Misson.
