Jeanette Graham

July 13, 1949 — June 29, 2013

Some people measure wealth with dollar signs, when in actuality wealth should be measured by the amount of love you have in your life. That being said, Jeanette Marie Graham (63) had to have been one of the wealthiest people in the world. This was very evident on Saturday, June 29, 2013 when she was surrounded by a family saying goodbye to her, as her parents John and Loretta Graham stood beside God with open arms welcoming her home.

A memorial service for Jeanette will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., July 4, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with a prayer service to take place at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be made at Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee. Lunch will be served at the church following the service. Furey Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Jeanette was born July 13, 1949, and spent her life in Frazee, MN. After graduating from Frazee High School, she attended Moorhead State University, where she earned her degree in Special Education. (She was the first Graham to attend college.) After graduating, she spent her years of teaching in the Frazee-Vergas School District, where she made many friends who she held dear and considered an extension of her family. Teaching was her passion; every student who entered her classroom held their own special place in her heart.

She holds a very special place in every family members heart. It may be because of that "something" special she taught you or just the fact that she made each person feel special. Jeanette did this by making it a point to always know what was going on in each person's life. Jeanette was not just a Special Education Teacher, she was a Special Teacher; her daily lessons far exceeded the classroom, as she daily taught her nieces and nephews valuable life lessons. From homework help and baking lessons to words of encouragement and advice, Jeanette was always teaching us something. The most important lesson she taught, however, was to always remain strong in your Faith. Jeanette's Faith was more important to her than anything. That Faith has finally brought her home to live in peace.

Jeanette was a cornerstone for the family. This was evident on any given Friday or Saturday morning. Upon entering the door at the farm, one would be greeted by Jeanette and a group of guests (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends) gathering for coffee and conversation. She loved these visits, but when she had some alone time, she loved to spend it reading, always seeking knowledge. She also enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines; as she did that, her family enjoyed collecting "precious moments" and memories with her.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Loretta Graham. Survivors include siblings; Kathleen Graham, of Frazee; Dave (Carol) Graham, of Frazee; Mike Graham, of Frazee; John (Jackie) Graham of Frazee; Randy (Pam) Graham, of Frazee, Scott (Kathy) Graham, of Frazee; Jeff (Karen) Graham, of Bagley; Mary (Bruce) Power, of Ada; and many nieces, nephews, and great - nieces and nephews. Jeanette will be greatly missed.

Memorials, in Jeanette's honor, can be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Radio Ministry or Hospice.
