Julie Rae Brandt, age 36, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loved ones following a courageous battle against cancer.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, June 14, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee with Reverend William Aufdenkamp officiating. Mary Myhrer will be the organist. Heidi Brune will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be: Steve Maneval, Ken Benke, Rick Brandt, Ricky Brandt, Liz Duncan, Jan Ditterick-Gerdes and Kelli Ostermann. Honorary casketbearers will be Julie's co-workers. Interment will be made in Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. A luncheon will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 4-7 P.M. at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service to be held at 6 P.M. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Furey Funeral Home serving Frazee and Vergas, MN.
Julie was born November 14, 1973 to Darrell and Joyce (Holmer) DelMain at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes. Julie grew up and attended school in Frazee graduating with the class of 1992. Following high school graduation, Julie attended college in Fergus Falls for two years, then attended college in Bemidji for a year, followed by a year at Detroit Lakes Vocational School. Julie was united in marriage to Randy Brandt on July 19, 1997 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. This union was blessed with 3 sons: Zachary, Jourdan and Blake. She was a loving mother who devoted much of her time to her husband, children, nieces and nephews. Julie was employed at St. Mary's Innovis Health for several years where she made many friends. Julie and her family are members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee where Julie also taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Julie is survived by her husband, Randy and 3 sons: Zachary, Jourdan and Blake or Detroit Lakes; parents: Darrell and Joyce (Holmer) DelMain of Frazee; 2 sisters: Lisa (Ken) Benke of Dent; Jamie (Steve) Maneval of Detroit Lakes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Betty Brandt of Frazee; brother-in-law, Rick (Jeannie) of Frazee; 3 nephews and 2 nieces; as well as many other relatives.
Julie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Nevill and Lois DelMain and her maternal grandparents: Vernon and Ardith Holmer.
