LaVana Roselyn (Feldt) Meyhoff, 88, Frazee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Frazee Care Center where she had most recently been a resident.
She was born in Frazee on May 15, 1936, a daughter of the late Herman and Sadie (Kannenberg) Feldt. On September 3, 1950, LaVana was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Evergreen, and married Ray Meyhoff in that church on June 29, 1955. In 1956, they transferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee.
In earlier years, LaVana and Ray managed the Budget Motel in Jamestown, ND, then the Super 8 Motel in Thief River Falls. In 1997, the couple retired to their hometown, Frazee where LaVana was active with the Red Hat Society. She loved company and entertaining, spending time with family and friends and attending family reunions. She and Ray enjoyed traveling, and were delighted to visit Germany and Italy, as well as many parts of the US. LaVana was also an avid collector of magnets and bells from the many places she visited.
LaVana is surived by her sister-in-law, Peggy Meyhoff-Maki (Bruce) of Frazee, the Shirley Brasel family; her nieces: Chris (Jeff) Janke, Kathy (Steve) Galbrecht, Karen (Monty) Cogger, Kelly (Gary Vantine) Hathcox, David (Vicki) Erickson, Steve (Jackie) Erickson, Jim (Brenda) Erickson, Kay (Ron) Rosso, Lisa Meyhoff-Pierson (Eric) and Sheryl (Randy) Burchell; other relatives and friends.
LaVana was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Ray.
Funeral services for LaVana will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 210 Maple Ave., E., Frazee, MN 56544, on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2 PM with Pastor Ed Borchardt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be in Toad Lake Cemetery.
