Lee Bade

June 13, 1941 — April 4, 2013

Lee E. Bade, 71, of Frazee, MN, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 4th 2013. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Frazee Event Center with Pastor Joe Clauson of Harvest Fellowship officiating the services. Lunch will be served at the event center following the service. Interment will be made in the Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee, MN. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the Frazee Event Center on Saturday.

Lee was born June 13, 1941, in Kankakee, Illinois to George L. Bade and Helen Louise (Whetlow) Bade. He grew up in Momence and graduated from Momence High School with the class of 1959.

On October 12, 1963, Lee married Carol (Boicken) Bade of Beecher, Illinois. Two children were born to the couple, Randy and Tina. The couple lived on a farm in Momence, IL and in 1971, moved to Minnesota where they farmed for more than 20 years. Lee owned and operated Lee's Construction starting in 1973 and most recently, B's Dirt Works. In 1989, the family made their home in Frazee where Lee resided until the time of his passing.

Lee enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Many memories were made at the family cabin on Rush Lake. The family enjoyed water skiing, fishing, grilling, pontoon rides and "surfing". Lee was an avid member of the Perham Trap Shooters League, Shooting Stars Snowmobile Club, and the Frazee Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and farming.

Lee is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Carol Boicken Bade of Frazee; two children: Randy (DiAnne Berns) Bade of Frazee and Tina (Jeff) Hechtel of Lino Lakes, MN; 4 grandchildren: Megan and Austin Hechtel of Lino Lakes, MN and Ryan and Jordan Bade of Frazee; 1 sister, Joy (Marvin) Alwes of Maribel, WI; 1 brother, Donald (Cindy) Bade of Momence, Ill., many nieces and nephews; and Jeff Dunblazier and his children.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents.
