Lee G. Hoeft, 81, Dent, MN, formerly of Fairmont, MN, died Wednesday, November 26 at his home under the care of his loving family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Loon Lake, rural Vergas, MN, Pastor Robert Hinckley, officiating.
There will be a time of gathering 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Lee Glen Hoeft was born July 10, 1933 in Stewart, MN to Orville and Margaret (Dilly) Hoeft. He was raised in Stewart and moved with his family to Mankato, MN where he graduated from Mankato High School in 1951. He served with the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he attended Mankato State College prior to beginning his career as an insurance agent. Lee was united in marriage to Sharon Kammerer, March 9, 1954 in Mankato. He worked as an insurance agent in Mankato prior to moving to Fairmont, MN in 1969 where he opened the Lee Hoeft Agency. He and Sharon moved to rural Dent, MN in 1997.
Lee enjoyed time with his family, fishing, hunting, traveling, playing golf, being active in his church, his community and Lutherans For Life.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of rural Dent, his children: Leesa (Michael) Scott of Madelia, MN, Marcie (Craig) Quiring of Coon Rapids, MN, Vicki Hoeft of Fairmont, MN, Bonnie (Myrl) Wolter-Stadnick of Rochester, MN, Kelly (Mark) Adamson of Oronoco, MN, Dori (Doug Owings) Hoeft of St. Cloud, MN, Lee Paul Myron Hoeft of Oronoco, MN, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jess, his parents and a brother, Jay. Furey Funeral Home is serving the family.www.fureyfh.com.
