Letha M. Ziegler, age 84, rural Perham, MN, died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Golden Manor Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN, Reverend John Beck, officiating. Interment will be at the Gorman Township Cemetery, rural Perham, MN.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, with a prayer service at 4:00 PM at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee and visitation will be again at the church 1-hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Letha Mae Ziegler was born June 2, 1932, in St. James Hospital, Perham, MN, to Lyle and Mae (Reynolds) Hockett. She attended school in the Frazee district and is a 1949 graduate of Frazee High School.
Letha was united in marriage to Clarence Ziegler, April 27, 1950, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN. They farmed in Gorman Township their entire married life.
Letha was an avid reader and instilled a love of books in her children. She was also an excellent seamstress, sewing clothes for her family throughout their lives; including wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, and, in later years, baby blankets and quilts. In retirement, Lee and Clarence traveled throughout the United States. Visiting Alaska was a highlight. Lee traveled to England numerous times, as she was very proud of her heritage. She was also able to visit her long time pen pal in Australia.
Survivors include: her husband of 67 years, Clarence of rural Perham; 2 sons and 5 daughters: Alan (Cheryl Nelson) of Pelican Rapids, MN, Cindy (Steve Nickolauson) Ziegler of Ponsford, MN, Julie (Stephen) Bills of Hibbing, MN, Jean (David) Lein of Perham, MN, Kathleen (Bill) Mayer of Minneapolis, MN, Elaine Ziegler of Coram, MT, Richard (Mary Lynn) Ziegler of Frazee, MN; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Leo Lanners of Marshall, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Marian Lanners; 2 brothers: Mark and Dean Hockett; and a granddaughter-in-law: Nicole Ziegler. Furey Funeral Home is serving the family, please visit www.fureyfh.com to leave online condolences.
