Lois Caroline Wippich, 89, Vergas, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 22, 2026.

Lois Caroline (Krause) Wippich was born July 4, 1936 to Paul & Elsie Krause of Morristown, MN. She was baptized July 19, 1936 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Morristown, Minnesota and was confirmed April 2, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church North Morristown. Lois attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran School North Morristown, MN, High School at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, and Concordia College in St. Paul MN where she graduated as a Lutheran school teacher. Lois taught in the following Lutheran Schools: Wolsey, SD where she met Ellsworth Wippich, who was Principal at the time, and they later married on July 20, 1958. Lois also taught in Fairmont, Northrup, and Truman MN.

After Ellsworth was called to be a Pastor, they served the Lord in three different congregations. One in Lidgerwood, ND another in Courtland, MN and their final location in Vergas, MN where Lois continued to use her teaching skills by starting Jesus Little Lambs Preschool. She taught there from the early 1980’s until 2018. She was 81 years old when she finally retired for good. Her goal was to teach the Love of Jesus and to live that Love. In addition to teaching preschool, she taught piano lessons, worked at the Loon’s Nest, Altona Restaurant, The Log House & Homestead, Furey Funeral Home, and Crossroads Landscape and Garden Center.

Pastor & Lois’s union was blessed with five children: Rachel (Dale) Splettstoeszer, Big Lake, Joel (Jenewa) Wippich, Tacoma Washington, Miriam (Alan – deceased) Smith, Vergas, Priscilla (Scott) Orvik, Dent, and Naomi (Mike) Kawlewski, Perham; fourteen grandchildren: Tiffany Splettstoeszer, Stephanie (Jeff) Riepe, Jessica (Jesse) Pehrson, Angela Splettstoeszer, Jaan and Johann Wippich, Philip (Michaelah) Orvik, Bailey, Samuel, Caleb, Mikayla and Abigail Orvik, Nathan (Alexa) Kawlewski, and Elayna (Ethan) Dillner; one great-grandchild due in July: Benjamin Kawlewski.

Lois is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ellsworth, her brother, parents and one son-in-law.

Lois left a legacy of love and her family rejoices knowing she is Home with Jesus her Savior.

Visitation will be held May 31st from 4-6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Loon Lake with a prayer service to be held at 6 p.m. June 1st, there will also be a visitation at 10 a.m. one hour prior to the Christian funeral service, which will begin at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
