Marlyce Loibl, 87, unexpectedly passed away October 9th, 2023

Marlyce was born February 26, 1936 at home in Harwood, North Dakota at 36 degrees below zero to Victor and Ella Haugen. Marlyce grew up in Harwood where she attended country school for 10 years, and later attending Moorhead State Teachers' College Campus School in Moorhead, Minnesota. She graduated with the class of 1953. Marlyce started her employment at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo, North Dakota, while attending high school. During this time, she met Selvin Nygard, who also worked there. They were married June 9, 1956. They transferred to Wahpeton, North Dakota. Larry Scott was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, August 14, 1959. They transferred back to Fargo and daughter, Linda Marlyne was born July 29, 1961. Marlyce was a homemaker until 1965 when she began working part-time as a dispatcher at the Fargo Police Department. She then began working for Fargo Public Schools as a secretary to the principal.

The family moved to Jamestown, North Dakota, in 1972, where they owned and operated Jamestown Ambulance. They sold the business in 1978 and built a year-round home on their lake property on Lake Seven near Frazee, Minnesota. Marlyce was employed by Peoples Independent Insurance Agency in Frazee, and later became an independent agent. She left the agency in 1993.

Marlyce and Selvin divorced in 1988. She met Eldon Loibl in 1991 and they married February 14, 1993. They lived in a cabin on Rose Lake, near Frazee, during the summers where she was employed at Floral Impressions in Detroit Lakes for 11 years. They resided in Mesa, Arizona, for the winters where Marlyce was employed at Lonnie's Jewelry Supply for 11 years, also.

After selling their lake home in 2009, they purchased a condominium in Frazee. She began working at the Frazee Care Center. She was employed for eight years, but needed to resign to care for Eldy who passed away in 2021. She continued to live in the condo until she passed.

Marlyce held numerous positions of responsibility in her church and communities. Hosting and entertaining family and friends brought her so much joy. She loved cooking and baking in her strawberry kitchen. Marlyce took pride in having an immaculate home. She was always dressed to the nines, and it's been said that she never left home without earrings and nails polished. But she was most proud of her family. Family was the highlight of her life. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Marlyce is survived by her two children Larry (June) Nygard, Fargo, ND Linda (Kevin) Mickelson, Perham, MN; 5 grandchildren Matt (Christine) Nygard, Dr. Nathan (Sarah) Nygard, Dr. Ryan (Shelby) Nygard, Kyle (Leaha) Mickelson, Brooke (Jack) Stigman; and 13 great-grandchildren; brother Roger (Alaine) Haugen; sister-in-law Mavis Loendorff; brother-in-law Maynard (Rita) Loibl; and many cousins and nieces. She is also survived by 2 step-children Terry (Linda) Loibl, Port Colbourne, Ontario Canada, Tamie Loibl Scottsdale Arizona; 3 step-grandchildren Charish (Heath) Hammond, Kaytlin Loibl, Nicholas Loibl; and 2 step great grandchildren.

Celebration of life for Marlyce will be 11:00am, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee with visitation one-hour prior. Burial will be held at Fargo National Cemetery.
