The funeral services for Mary Lou Helen Dalluge, 87, Frazee, MN, will be Monday, April 27, 2009, 11 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, MN, with Rev. William Aufdenkamp officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. at Furey Funeral Home on Sunday, April 26, 2009 and also 1 hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Burial will be at a later date in Knollwood Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN. Mary Lou died at the Frazee Care Center on April 23, 2009.

Mary Lou Helen Simon was born on November 20, 1921 in Mount Vernon, South Dakota, to John and Vannie (Mills) Simon. Her family moved to Mitchell, SD in 1923. She started school in 1927 in Plate, SD. They then moved to Alexandria, SD in 1929 and she graduated from country school in 1935. She attended high school in Alexandria, SD, Mitchell, SD, Ethan, SD and eventually graduated in Emmetsburg, IA in 1939. She then attended Emmetsburg Junior College from 1939-1941 and then moved to the Univ. of Northern Iowa until 1942. She worked in Washington D.C. from 1942-1943 and taught school at Ringsted, IA from 1943-1945.

Mary Lou was baptized and confirmed on March 28, 1942 at College Hill Lutheran Chapel in Cedar Falls, IA. She married Caroll Paul Dalluge on April 13, 1943, in Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney, NE. They moved to the Pelican Rapids area in 1945 where they farmed until 1973. They lived around Pelican Rapids until 1988. She then moved to Vergas, MN until 1997, when she moved into the Frazee Care Center.

Mary Lou is survived by her children, Evan (Dee) Dalluge, Carol Ann Dalluge, Debbie (Jim) Hoard, Melanie (Jim) Hoffmann, Paul (Bernice) Dalluge, Becky (Steve) Carriera, and Rachael (Roger) Svendsgaard; sister, Joan Hereim; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Caroll Dalluge; parents, John and Vannie Simon; and brothers, Milton and John Simon.
