Maudie Maves, age 80, of Frazee, MN, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Frazee Care Center. A visitation followed by prayer service will take place from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014, at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, MN.
Maudie was born June 26, 1933, in Height of Land Township, Becker County, MN, to Magnus and Agnus (French) Nelson. She grew up in rural Frazee where she attended country school through the 8th grade. She worked for Swift Plant until its closing. She enjoyed cooking and baking and listening to country music.
For health reasons, Maudie made her home at the Frazee Care Center where she lived for 15 years.
Maudie is survived by 2 sons: Lloyd Bertek and Charlie (Donna) Maves, both of Frazee; 1 daughter, Maudie Jane (Clancy) Prunty of Nevis, MN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Alice Nelson of OK and Elna Nelson of Wilmar, MN; 3 brothers: Duane (Judy) Nelson of Osage and Manly (Betty) Nelson of Henning.
Preceding Maudie in death were her parents; son, Larry Bertek; 2 daughters: JoAnn Maves and Anita Maves; 3 sisters: Carrie Cartwright, Mary Retz, and infant sister, Mae; and daughter-in-law, Georgia Bertek.
