Mildred Lorraine Glander was born January 19, 1934 to William and Bertha Glander in Toad Lake Township, Becker County. Mildred attended District 73 country school near her home. After graduating, she helped out on the family farm and sawmill. Mildred met Norman Quittschreiber at a local dance hall. As their relationship blossomed, Mildred and Norman were united in marriage on February 28, 1952 at the Evergreen Parsonage near Frazee. They established their home near Toad Lake, later purchasing the family farm in Silver Leaf Township. Together they raised their seven children. In 1990, Mildred and Norman retired and moved into town. Mildred continued doing the things she enjoyed. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, canning, crocheting and needle point. She also volunteered her time at church and with the Nutrition Center. Mildred looked forward to family gatherings and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and her grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed those occasional trips to the casino or a day out fishing. Her children will always cherish the memory of coming home to the smell of freshly baked goodies. Mildred was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her husband Norman of 61 years and children: Lois (late Larry) Isola of Perham, Lynette (Jim) Nelson of Frazee, Rene (Mike) Woodard of Frazee, Dale (Judy) Quittschreiber of Ogema, Debra (Steve) Maves of Vergas, Kevin (Kathy) Quittschreiber of Frazee and Lisa (Jim) Piper of Frazee.
