Ronald Rex Schoenheit was born February 17, 1949, in Drayton, ND to Otto and Wanda (Elke) Schoenheit. He was baptized at home on the family farm and attended school in Cavalier. From 1969-1972, Ron proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge he moved to Rapid City, SD. He worked various jobs while living in Rapid City and then moved to Grand Forks, ND. Later, Ron moved to Fargo. Ron was united in marriage to Donna Malaski in 1981. Ron and Donna resided in Fargo where Ron was employed with Northern Pipe for 18 years as production supervisor. They were also foster parents to numerous children throughout the years, giving them guidance, advice and a warm place to call home. Donna passed away in 1996. In 2000, Ron started a new career with Hope Lutheran Church as a building engineer. Ron enjoyed sharing his many talents with Hope Lutheran where he was "jack of all trades". On January 27, 2007, Ron was united in marriage to Maryann Antonsen-Tronnes. He retired from Hope Lutheran in 2011 due to health reasons. One of Ron's wishes was to move back to the country. Ron and Maryann relocated to rural Frazee in 2011. Ron was in his element as he enjoyed going on drives around the countryside scouting for deer, turkeys and other wildlife. He was an excellent cook. Their home always had the "open door policy" welcoming all friends of their children. Ron loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
