Sharon Kostka

April 17, 1934 — August 27, 2013

Sharon Jacquelyn Kostka, age 79, of Frazee, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Frazee Care Center following a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. Interment will be made at Lakeside Cemetery, Frazee. Lunch will be hosted at the church following the service for all to attend. Visitation will begin Friday, August 30, 2013, at 4 p.m. with a prayer service at Furey Funeral Home, and visitation will continue until 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Sharon was born on April 17, 1934, at home in East Lake Lillian Township, Kandiyohi County, MN, to Mearl and Helga (Lundbom) Scott. She attended schools in the Willmar, MN, area.

Sharon was united in marriage to Tom Kostka and together they had two sons, Marshall and Reed. They were engaged in general farming for a short time prior to moving to Frazee in 1965.

Sharon's interests included raising Chihuahuas for a short period of time and then working in the hardware business in Perham, MN. After she retired from the hardware business she started raising rabbits. For over 30 years she helped support 4-H and the Rabbit Project. She was also as "The Rabbit Lady". She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 7702 where she served as past vice president and president. She also enjoyed doing crafts of many kinds.

Survivors include her sons: Marshall (Jeanie) and Reed (Lois) Kostka all of Frazee; 6 grandchildren: Crystal (Tyler) Paul, Cassie (Jon Smith), Tessa (Josh) Clemetson, Jackie (Loren), Lacey (Joe Rosenberg), Cody (Cheyenne Campbell); 5 great grandchildren: Jenna, McKinley, Mason, Madison, and Jaxon; sister, Phyllis Wickland of Thief River Falls, MN, and brother, Billie Scott of Lake Lillian, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Cameron (infant) and Wayne; and sisters: Delores, Mavis, Betty Lou, and Muriel (infant).
