Viola Mackenthun

Viola Larena Mackenthun , 92, Frazee, died Thursday, October 8, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes, MN. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN with Reverend William Aufdenkamp officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. Visitation is scheduled at Furey Funeral Home, Frazee, MN, on Monday, October 12, 2009, from 4-7 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

Viola Larena Rohde was born March 28, 1917 in the White Earth, MN area, to Theodore and Matilda (Fenske) Mackenthun. They moved to the Frazee area where Viola was raised and attended school. She married Martin Mackenthun on September 22, 1937 and then moved to the farm where she lived the rest of her life.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Mary) Mackenthun, South Beloit, IL, Karen Strande, Mounds View, MN, Betty (Rollie) Goble, Moorhead, MN, David Mackenthun, Frazee, MN, and Janice (David) Daniel, Blaine, MN; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Viola in death is her husband, Martin Mackenthun; parents, Theodore and Matilda Rohde; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
