Clyde Glawe

Clyde Edward Glawe, 91, of Vergas, MN, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Vergas, MN, at 11:00a.m.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Clyde Edward Glawe was born on September 20, 1927, to Edward and Edith (Emery) Glawe in Detroit Lakes, MN.  Clyde went to school in Candor Township and graduated from Frazee High School with the class of 1945.  He was in FFA in high school, was great at math, and always enjoyed going to basketball games.  After high school, Clyde worked on the family farm and hauled gravel.  He loved all his animals and especially his cats. He was known for his hard work and dedication on the farm even after having a near fatal tractor accident. He loved living on the farm, and never gave up the belief he would always return.   He had a great memory and sense of humor.  He loved to play tricks on others and lead people to believe he wasn’t very intelligent. He always got the last laugh when they would find out how smart he really was.  Clyde enjoyed shaking dice, his nightly half-gallon of ice cream which he shared with his cat and living independently on the farm.

Clyde is survived by his nephews: Terry Bunkowski, Tom Bunkowski, and Scott Bunkowski; niece: Jodi Kako; brother in-law: Donnie Bunkowski; other extended family and dedicated neighbors and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Edith; sister: Janette Bunkowski; and nephew: Todd Bunkowski.
