Elaine Schrupp

Elaine Clara Schrupp was born August 31, 1954 in Perham, Minnesota.  She was the youngest of four daughters born to William and Donna (Soland) Moltzan. Elaine passed away October 11, 2019 at Sanford Medical in Fargo, North Dakota.

She was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Perham, Minnesota.  After growing up in rural Vergas, she graduated from Perham High School and worked for Bretz Hardware, Primera Foods, and Vergas Hardware.

On September 5, 1975 she was united in marriage to Larry Schrupp at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vergas. The two of them could often be seen tearing up the dance floor whenever a waltz or polka was playing. They made their home in Vergas where Elaine was active in the church, serving as secretary of Aid Association for Lutherans and on the pre-school board.  They had one daughter, Laura.

Elaine loved entertaining friends and family, especially during football games. She was an avid baker and always made sure there was plenty of food for everyone.  She enjoyed crocheting, taking ceramic classes, and other crafting projects.  In her later years, she spent time traveling, playing bingo, and driving her golf cart around Vergas.

Elaine is survived by her husband Larry Schrupp of Vergas; daughter Laura (Andrew) Laes of St. Paul; sisters: Cindy Schrupp of Perham; Marie (Kermit) Schultz of Vergas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Donna Moltzan and a sister: Doris Kunza.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday October 17, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vergas.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7PM and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
