Roger Peterson

Roger Stanley Peterson was born December 12, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Stanley and Evelyn (Lemke) Peterson. He passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Prairie View Assisted Living in Perham, Minnesota.

He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis before serving his country in the U.S. Navy, receiving his honorable discharge in 1965. On September 23, 1967, Roger was united in marriage to Donna Olson, and they made their home in Richfield, Minnesota. He worked as a mechanic for Northern States Power.

They moved to Bakersfield, California, where they purchased a convenience store that they owned and operated for 13 years. Roger and Donna enjoyed playing co-ed volleyball and softball. They returned to Minnesota and moved to Roger’s family home on Lake Sybil. Roger enjoyed fishing on Lake Sybil and canning produce from their garden. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan.

He is survived by his in-laws: Chuck Kussman of Dayton, MN; Ronnie (Johnnie) Olson of Henning; Larry (Pat) Olson of Wilmot, SD; Marilyn Bergman of Luverne, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife Donna in 2016; parents: Stanley and Evelyn Peterson;
